You need the kind of supplier that becomes a partner because ultimately your destinies and success become bound together. The decisions involving long-term supply are more complex and require specialist analysis. We calibrate supply and demand for long-term off-take agreements.

What is going to come on stream, when and in what quantity? How is it likely to impact pricing? Is there sufficient demand for your specific product? How are elevated freight costs and supply proximity affecting the industry and pricing? When your product comes on stream what are the factors likely to affect pricing at that time? What new products and technologies are emerging that could disrupt the industry and affect your business? What are the decisions you should be making now for your long-term future?

Logistics

 

We've seen suppliers that have a great product but due to logistics issues, they can't cost effectively get it to market. And when it finally looks like all things are lined-up nicely, who is going to oversee that process to ensure it is going to run smoothly? Who has the experience in-country to make sure a buyer gets what he is expecting on a timely basis?

Finance

 

Buyers and sellers can find themselves exposed to FOREX risks. How and what is the cost of managing that risk down?

Trade finance terms may not be palatable to either a buyer or a seller. What are the underlying issues and risks? What are the means of overcoming that risk and is there a third-party specialist willing to take that risk?

Advisory

 

Suppliers may be constrained in different ways, including capital to build-out their infrastructure to increase capacity.

Are there long-term buyers or specialist investors willing to participate on a project finance basis to assist with expansion capital? 

 

Are there proximity concentration risks that can be strategically dealt with through expansion closer to key buyer markets? How does that happen with in a way that minimises risk?
